11:49 AM - Ohhhhhhhhhhhh YES!
Current mood: ecstatic
Category: Fashion, Style, Shopping
Last season I fell in LOVE with the Ugg Uptown boots...
Unfortunately, yours truly has enormous feet. By the time I realized I couldn't live without them all the size 10 (yes, you read that right) were sold out. I mean COMPLETELY sold out. I couldn't even order from Ugg directly because it seemed that every other woman in the world with big feet had beat me to the shoe.
Being me I totally spaced my "love at first sight" addiction to the boot until I was browsing through a catalog earlier last month and WHAM... there's the boot I absolutely had to have...revised for this year... THE UPTOWN II... so the search was on... but this year I was armed with the knowledge that I couldn't sit and wait to decide if I really wanted to justify the $194 price tag (don't tell Jim!)...
Of course that didn't stop me and I sat on my duff for a month trying to convince myself that I could live without the boot... for a woman with a shoe addiction this was not an easy task... I scanned Zappos every day for 3 weeks looking at "my" boots... Rose called and we went to the Bootlegger for a shoe fix... I had to try on a pair (even though they were a size too small, because the Bootlegger never orders Uggs in size Giant)... note to self... do not try on a shoe you're trying to convince yourself you do not need in order to breath and function everyday...
Naturally, my life being as hectic as it is led me down a distracting path for the next couple of weeks and I put the notion of the boot to the back of my mind and focused more on Jim coming to town. Which in theory was a great plan... in theory... mostly (*evil Cartman snear*)... because the minute he left town I needed a new distraction...
Not being able to find one I did the next best thing... RETAIL THERAPY... only to find out that Zappos had sold out the size (there's a shocker) and the color that I wanted! The official Ugg site was out already too! A few more sites turned up nothing available as well!Uggggggggh! (no pun intended)
Another quick search of the internet (what did I ever do before the internet???) and I found a cool site called whatshebuys.com and they were $4 cheaper than Zappos (which technically made them on sale... right?) Free shipping... no taxes... ordered on a Sunday evening... and I AM WEARING THOSE BEAUTIFUL BOOTS right this minute. Less than 4 days turn around time... I'm going to shop there again!
And ohhhhh yes! They are as cute and comfortable as I knew they would be!!!!!!
