..> Wow - That Was an Insight
Last night I called Tosha to give her an idea for a Christmas gift for our mother. Naturally, as is the case most every time I call Tosha, she didn't answer and had to call me back. Usually not a big thing. But when I originally called her I was driving, when she called me back I was replacing the toilet seat in the condo. Not a glamourous job by all means, just a job that needed to be done and done now.
One of Tosh's latest "boy toys" has most all of my contact information and likes to give her a hard time every now and then about it. He'll jokingly tell her that he's spoken to me on a day when we've had no contact whatsoever, you know, things like that. Well, the subject of an email that I had sent at the request of my mother came up and I asked about the answer. Tosha handed the phone to him so he could tell me directly what his wussy answer was going to be.
The conversation went something like this:
Boy Toy (BT): hey.
Me: what are you doing?
BT: I'm fixing my computer, your sister broke it again. What are you doing?
Me: Replacing the toilet seat.
Latest boy toy didn't skip a beat or even act surprised, he just changed the subject. He's managed to stick around long enough to know that there are just certain things that my sister and I aren't willing to wait around for others to do. Call us stubborn, I prefer independent.
You're probably wondering why I'm bothering to share this boring story with you... well... it was at this point that I realized that it's no wonder that I don't surprise Jim anymore when it comes to getting things done around here when he's not around and why there's no real "honey do list" for him when he comes up here... it took him about seven years to figure it out... I think BT got it in less than two... I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing... for either man ;)
