Grocery Shopping

For some reason I really do not enjoy grocery shopping. I don't know why. I just... don't anymore. Jim loved to go walk around the grocery store. He'd get a little snippy if I went shopping before he got home. I have to admit it was always a fun time when we'd do it together. Maybe that's why I don't care for it anymore. It's just not the same.

That being said... I do have a story from this weekend's trip there...

Every once in awhile I decide I'm not going to cook for the week... and this week I've decided that I'm not cooking. So I swung into the deli to pick up. I love those deli meal deals you can get with a bunch of chicken, potato salad, and of course those sweet rolls...

So since I already decided I was over the store, shopping, and cooking for the time being... I ordered the 16 piece meal to make a couple of meals and options from (the breasts make great chicken salad sandwiches, the wings are a meal by themselves, and I can nibble on a thigh during a quick lunch break from work... dear God... the google bot is going to have fun with that sentence (I can't wait to see the search hits from that one!)).

Anyway... as I'm standing there waiting for it all to be bagged this typical Jackson Jewish woman walks up... looks me up and down (I'm not embellishing here... really did... and boy am I glad I decided to wear my matching sweatsuit set -insert rolling eyes here-)... then in her snarliest voice she asks me, "are you buying the whole case or do you plan on leaving some for everyone else?" FOR. RUDE! I was floored. I mean there was more than plenty there and it was only the middle of the afternoon... and she was ordering the baked (not fried) chicken... I just shot her my best J.A.P. look back and in an equally snarly voice gave her a simple, "No" and let her listen to the click clack of my flip-flops as I walked away.
