I've heard it said that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
I think whoever made that line up is full of crock.
To never have loved would mean that you never truly opened up to another person.
To truly love another person you have to open yourself up. You make yourself vulnerable.
To never love means that you only have yourself to worry about.
To truly love means that your lover, their children, their dreams, your futures come first.
Every choice, every moment, every decision is made with them in mind.
If you have never truly loved you yearn for what might be.
Once you've tasted and lost true love you yearn for what was.
You yearn for the warmth of their touch.
You yearn for the calm that comes with the sound of their voice.
You yearn for the comfort of their embrace.
What happens to the other half of a soul mate when one mate is taken?
What do you do with the half that is left behind?
How do you redefine life as "mine" when every moment for so long has been "ours?"

Very eloquent. I admire the way you are able to form your thoughts and express them so clearly. I am not sure I would be able to do that.
But don't you agree that the world was a better place with him in it? Even if it was for a shorter time than what should have been.
Imagine if his kids had never had an opportunity to know him. And you...you are who you are in part because you knew him and loved him. That is how he lives on in the hearts and lives of you and his children. Because he has changed the fabric of who you are.
Thanks Tracy...
I do believe the world was certainly a better place because Jim was in it. He touched all that who he came into contact with and with his job that was a lot of people.
I have always known, and always made sure to tell him, that I am the woman I am today because he was in my life.
And... you are just as "eloquent," in fact, I'd say you are 100 times more eloquent then me :)
All the best,
Tara Ann
Heart open. Eyes shut. That's love to me.
Thanks Teddy :) You always know what to say!
