Do you know which U.S. president declared Thanksgiving a national holiday?
According to Wikipedia it was George Washington... sorry Shan...
Where will you spend Thanksgiving Day?
Same place I spend every weekend now...
Do you put up decorations?
I don't, but my mom and youngest brother do.
What's your best Thanksgiving memory?
Two years ago November 22, 2006 when Jim and I spent the holiday snuggled in watching the Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends marathon on Cartoon Network. I made a delicious turkey breast in the crock-pot, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn, rolls, and managed to burn the green beans... but in true trooper spirit Jim ate them anyway... seeing as it was his distraction that caused the beans to burn... ;)
What's your worst Thanksgiving memory?
The year I had to stay in Utah and work and my younger sister came to spend the weekend with me and I got off late and we could not find anywhere open to eat... not even a pizza joint... and we had to scrounge through the pathetic college pantry I had at the time...
What's your favorite Thanksgiving Day food?
Deviled eggs...
What's your favorite Thanksgiving Day pie?
The banana pudding pie that my mom makes.
What Thanksgiving Day food do you dislike the most?
Cranberries... but just the jellied kind... the texture is nasty! I love dried cranberries.
What's the weirdest thing you ever ate at a Thanksgiving Day dinner?
Probably yams... I'm not a yam gal.
Do you watch football on Thanksgiving?
Well DUH!
Do you know what teams played the 1st football game, Thanksgiving 1934?
Haven't a clue...
Have you ever watched the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special?
Oh yeah.
Have you ever watched The Walton’s Thanksgiving Story?
Probably...
Have you ever watched The Mouse and The Mayflower?
Nope.
Do you watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?
Most years... some years I forget it's on... I know... almost sacrilegious...
Do you go shopping the day after Thanksgiving?
Only if I spend it in civilization.
What is absolutely your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?
This year it was supposed to be spending it with Jim...
What is the one thing you like least about Thanksgiving?
This year it's not spending it with Jim...
What are you most thankful for this year?
That I can take a little solace in knowing that there are three fewer criminals walking the streets in Colorado... and for the wonderful detectives, officers, deputies, prosecutors, and all their associated staffs who helped to keep them there.

Can't trust wikipedia. http://www.orenoque.com/thanksgiving/
for the "honest" truth. :)
Alrighty smarty pants... it's a matter of semantics...
Taken from the same page at orenoque...
"George Washington, leader of the revolutionary forces in the American Revolutionary War, proclaimed a Thanksgiving in December 1777 as a victory celebration honoring the defeat of the British at Saratoga. The Continental Congress proclaimed annual December Thanksgivings from 1777 to 1783, except in 1782.
George Washington again proclaimed Thanksgivings, now as President, in 1789 and 1795. President John Adams declared Thanksgivings in 1798 and 1799. President Madison, in response to resolutions of Congress, set apart a day for thanksgiving at the close of the War of 1812. Madison declared the holiday twice in 1815; however, none of these were celebrated in autumn."
So there :P
