While I was sorting laundry yesterday I came across a shirt that reminded me I had left a bit out of my 24 hour experience with my family...
So to pick up where I left off...
Remember when the guys got back from their "joy" ride "around the block" that my brother was giving me crap for being so flustered. What he didn't even realize is that not only was T.J. not wearing the same clothing he had been when daddy left, but Auntie was also "dressed" in a different outfit as well. I say "dressed" because as my brother, Ted, was taunting me I realized that the shirt I had put on( to replace the wet one HIS child had soaked during his bath) was on inside out...
Those in the know would consider this just another Tara moment... and they'd be right...
Ted and the kids left that night to get back to Utah in time for meetings Ted had on Sunday... but not before we had to rip through the house for T.J.'s binkie (why a nearly 2 year old still has a pacifier when they sooooo don't need one is a PET PEEVE of this aunt). It took enlisting the help of Uncle Kidd to find it hanging on a branch in the Christmas tree like an ornament... the same tree Ted had walked past at least 5 times looking for the pacifier... at which point Ted remembers that T.J.'s mother had mentioned he's been hanging his binkie in her tree...
I stuck around and helped clean up... then scuttled off the next morning to come in to the office... partly to try and make back some of the vacation time I'm behind... but mostly because the computers all had some kind of issue or another... so with one day "off" I started a SIXTY hour week... is it any wonder why I spent most of this last Saturday napping...
Here's to the hope of a quieter week... although I don't see that happening just yet either... I'm helping at the food bank tonight... then off to the Bistro for dinner... tomorrow night is girls' night at the movies... and then the week will already be half over!
