It's Officially Spring

And for us that means that the roads are finally bare enough to enjoy a walk or two through the neighborhood. We found this friendly neighbor on our Thursday afternoon walk past the guard station at the entrance to Mr. Cheney's gated community next door. There's not much zoom used in this picture. There is one large snowbank between this guy and us and nowhere for us to hide... can you tell I was more than a little nervous? Especially since once I decided to take a picture of him he looked my direction and it was all I could do to remember NOT. TO. MAKE. EYE. CONTACT!

This was my view as we hurried on our way quite quickly after that. The kiddos were troopers. We've not been out a lot this winter because the ice gets stuck in their toes and it makes it difficult for them to enjoy a good walk. We should have eased into this walk... I think all three of us would've felt better the next day if we'd a done the one mile loop instead of the outside two mile loop... still, the fresh air and the dry roads were a nice break before our next big spring storm that's set to roll in today.
