Serendipity...

That's what we discovered. What we had. Countless coincidences. Experiencing the same events while living our lives within a 400 mile radius of each other. Like both being in northern California during the big quake in 1989. Granted, I was in sixth grade at the time and he was only a year out of high school, 18 nearly 19. Of course it'd be another seven years until I was "legal" and another four nearly 5 before we'd quit running in circles around each other and finally cross paths.

And then what a trip it would be.

I heard a quote in a movie tonight that made me think of Jim. "The Greeks didn't write obituaries. They only asked one question after a man died; did he have passion?"

Jim had passion. He LOVED life. He LOVED his kids. He LOVED me. He kept those he loved close to his heart and even closer He tried to live his life to its fullest (not an easy thing to do when you're living life on the road).

Did he have passion?

I think you'd be hard pressed to say he didn't.
