Hero? This is hard. Off the top of my head I can't think of many heroes I have let alone one that's let me down... unless you want to count my father. But really, you don't want me to get into my daddy issues. Not here. Not now. Let's just say I really can't remember the time when I thought of him as my hero so it's not like he could really let me down. The man is a mess. A Class A Asshole. There's a reason none of his three children choose as adults to continue to have him in their lives. There's a reason why I refer to him directly to my mother as "her ex" and to my siblings as "their father."
Did he let me down? No. He was only one of many who proved me right.
