1:57 PM - The "Tara" Moment for the Day
Current mood: chipper
Category: Life
Anyone that truly knows me knows that I can't be trusted to walk and chew gum at the same time. Some days navigating from my office to Bossman's office is almost more than I can handle. I know, I know, I know... it's only like 20 feet away... but there's three doorways, two tables, the typewriter (Tami, that's the thing we used before computers were mainstream), carpet, the copier; you know, office stuff.
Today is no exception. It's cold, miserable, and bleek out. I wore my awesome Ugg boots (see the blog about this time last year...) to keep my feet warm. Only problem is they're a tad bit long in the toe area. I've got issues with most shoes anyway (I have a size ten foot without the long toes to fill the empty space in the shoes between where the ball of my foot ends and the end of the shoe). These shoes seem to be impossible for me to find my exact footing in. I feel like I'm constantly walking around "blind" for lack of a better way to put it. I'll kick things that I had no clue where there or about to be in my way (such as curbs, carpet, small dogs) because in other shoes I'd at least feel the item first.
At any rate, such was the case a few moments ago. I'd nailed the chair next to the typewriter which sent me flailing to catch my balance only to come up in time to kick the door jam in the main hallway before Bossman's office. Of course my natural reaction was, "ouch!" By the time I got to Bossman's door I could hear him snickering... he bravely said, "What's the matter "T," did you run into the wall?"
Yep, should've seen the look on his face when I proudly admited that, "As a matter of fact, yes I did." I don't think that was the answer he was expecting... of course I could be wrong... maybe he was just hoping for my sake that it wasn't going to be my answer :)
