Going Through Pictures

Now that I have my portable hard drive I've been able to pull some of the better pictures from our trip to the Oregon Coast that we took in January of 2006. This was one of the funnest trips we took. Of course, every trip with Mr. Waddles was an adventure. This one was no different. The alternator to the car was starting to go... we drove through the worse blizzard the West Coast had seen in 20 years... we almost didn't make it back through the next worse blizzard the eastern part of Oregon had seen in 20 years... the back end of the car was going and difficult to keep on the road in the slush... we passed no less than 4 cars rolled over on the interstate... and Jim came home with the nickname "Waddles."

I'm the one with the level head and steady hand... he preferred to keep saying, "Fuck a duck," every time something went wrong... eventually I couldn't help but laugh at him (my only coping mechanism when it came to dealing with his charm and wit :D ) because all I could picture was his head on a waddling duck (you figure it out... the end result of his favorite saying of the trip...)... I warned him THREE times that I was going to call him "Waddles" if he said it ONE more time... by the end of the week he was officially Waddles... and he smiled every time I called him it. He laughed at my blogspot address... and then he said he loved it. He checked it often and would call home to complain if he felt he was being picked on unfairly.

These are some of the pictures from our trip... I'm working on bringing more up... I've got a few from years previous (going back to 2001), but I can't seem to find them just yet. They may be on the older system and just not transferred yet. For now, enjoy these as much as Jim enjoyed them. He loved to flip back through the photo album of our trips...

We spent an hour looking for craps in the tidepools... then Waddles nearly stepped on this mama crap guarding her eggs...

He'd tickle me to the point of tears if he saw this one on here...

The sunset we watched while he held me in his arms:

The closest I could get him to taking a "self portrait" of the two of us... Jim is on the left... I'm on the right...

Trying to decide where to go next... I was officially off of tour guide duty... Little did I know the next stop was the Salishan... I am the most spoiled woman in the world...
