Like Scott mentioned in a comment one of Jim's most commonly used phrases was "Goddamn it." And so it's fitting that when I post this picture I can hear him over my shoulder using that expression and blushing at the attention. Jim didn't like a lot of attention... too bad Waddles... it's your time in the spotlight now.
I thought it might be nice to have a centralized post for memories of Jim from his friends and the so many different people that he touched during his life. Steve has already shared his "Sunny Jim" moment, Dave has reminded me the trouble those two could round up, Todd reminded me of his loving teasing and great sense of humor, and Scott reminded me of the finger of pain. I can't thank you gentleman enough. The nights are long and hard and having your words to read brings a little comfort at 3: 00 a.m.

My Memory for Tonight:
Tonight I keep thinking about the pictures taken below. At the prompting from Waddles I had ordered a new L series lens for my camera and it had just been received in the mail. We were hanging out on the back deck waiting for his favorite squirrels to come like they do every night at dusk so that we could try out the telephoto lens. There were a lot of "Goddamn it"s that night... but once he was slightly buzzed he lightened up and let me take his picture... see the other posts further down for the recent pictures (July 08 Archive)... I won't bore you and post them again. He was having a good time and I remember how nice it felt to just be at home.

This shot was taken by Jim... and he was so excited about it! Even with the telephoto lens I was too short to quite get the shot I wanted... we've always complimented each other this way :)
Such a strong presence. Even through pictures.
I love you Waddles.
