Finally Found...

I have spent what little time I have been home in the last three months digging through boxes and boxes of archived photos and discs looking for these pictures... even the page that was in the photo album somehow seemed to disappear... and then this evening (well, I guess technically now it was yesterday afternoon) as I grabbed a suitcase out of the "man cave" a/k/a the guest bedroom/office this spindal of discs just seemed to suddenly appear on top of a box I've been through no less than TWENTY times...

This is, sadly, I believe the only photo we ever took where we "bothered" some poor stranger to take it for us. We were at the aquarium in Denver, Colorado in February of 2004 (I was still blissfully unaware...)... always the company man... notice the Qwest/Nortel badge hanging out of Jim's pocket and the cell phone the size of a brick attached to his hip :) While Jim's favorite shirt was obviously the blue striped one I preferred this yellow jersey one I picked up for him the Christmas before... isn't he handsome?!?

One of the greatest things about Ocean's Journey is its size and variety of exhibits. We are classic nerds and could (read did) spend hours and hours there going through each exhibit several times and seeing something different every time... This is a classic shot of Jim turning his back on the camera and because it was 2004 and my little HP had a lag time of about 10 seconds he was successful (it's hard to believe that only four years ago the top of the line cameras had only 3 megapixels... a decent cellphone camera has that now...).

There are several hands on exhibits. My favorite was getting to play with the sting rays... Jim's favorite was poking the matting horeshoe crabs... shortly after this shot was snuck (err... snapped) one of the employees came back to the exhibit to answer questions and give out random tid bits of information... I could have gone the rest of my life without needing to know that horeshoe crabs stay connected together while they mate for days on end... Waddles on the other hand had the biggest boyish smile on his face and shot me the cutest little wink... this is the picture I've spent 12 weeks looking for... and it was worth every second I spent stressing over where it could have possibly dissapeared to.
