Today you turned 13.
Officially a teenager.
No longer your dad's little boy; now your father's little man.
Your dad was looking to forward to this fall with you. He was excited about many things that were happening for you in your life. The personal progress you had made this year made your dad so very proud of you. He was sad for you when you didn't make the CCP team, but made sure everyone knew how great of a soccer player he thought you were and how close you were to making the team this year. There wasn't a day that went by that your dad did not tell somebody about how amazing he thought you were. He loved you more than he could ever express.
There is so much I want to tell you about your father and the stories and lessons he shared with me... he taught us all to always put one foot in front of the other...
to keep going no matter how difficult the moment may be...
to watch over those you love...
to enjoy every moment you have with the people you care the most about...
to love with all you have and to never look back...
to work hard...
to take pride in all you do...
to know that there is nothing you cannot accomplish...
Happy birthday ARD. This first one will be tough, but we'll all make it through it because we'll have the strength of your dad to push us forward. So here's to hoping that the wish you made when you blew your candles out today comes true for you... some way... some how.
Love,
Tara Ann

Happy Birthday ARD...what a bitter sweet day for you. Hugs, Tara Ann!
Thanks Tracy.
One day when he's a grown man I hope he can look back at comments like yours and know that many people were thinking about him and keeping his sister and he close in their thoughts...
