In Your Eyes

Jim was the KING of mixed tapes (although now it was all on disc and iPods, but you know when you're generational(ly)* challenged because you STILL call it a mixed TAPE). He loved music. He loved expressing himself through the different genres. He had discs for nearly every mood. I've got a flash drive with 4GBs of his music.

I woke up during the witching hour this morning with this song running through my head:

"in your eyes
the light the heat
in your eyes
I am complete
in your eyes
I see the doorway to a thousand churches
in your eyes
the resolution of all the fruitless searches
in your eyes
I see the light and the heat
in your eyes
oh, I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light
the heat I see in your eyes"

And now I'm sitting here crying, again, because I still love him just as much as the first moment I fell in love with him... and while I always knew he loved me too and now I feel like I was not wrong in my interpretation of how he deeply he truly felt.

I know there's nothing I wouldn't do for him... and there was nothing he wouldn't do for me. We truly completed each other.

*yes, now I'm just making up my own words as I go...

I have this song on a mixed tape from the era of my "first love". I love that Jim is the king of mixed tapes:)

I honestly hadn't heard it or thought of it in YEARS! I had to go digging around to find it... I could come up with the first few lines and what I thought was the tune.

He does this to me ALL the time! But I love it. And I love that I have a couple of "tapes" of his to listen to that walk me through different times of our relationship and life together.
