Feerie...

I saw a blog post for this perfume and was immediately intrigued by it... the bottle... amazing...

the scents...

• Top notes: Violet, Red Berries (Black Currant) Italian Mandarin.
• Middle notes: Bulgarian Rose and Egyptian Jasmine.
• Bottom Notes: Iris Butter and Vetiver.

I would love to find a sample and give it a whiff! I have a feeling I'm going to fall instantly in love with it... and might have clear a spot for it along my Chanel and Vera Wang bottles... you know... just in case someone decides to gift me some... :) lol

A New Twist...

When I was growing up we had a butane curling iron similar to this one:

We used it for YEARS! Until they became so unpopular that we couldn't find the replacement gas chambers (this was pre-internet days). We used them at every, and I mean EVERY livestock show from northern California to southern California. They were handy. Especially when the bathrooms were full of other girls getting ready and you couldn't get an extra outlet because there usually weren't any extra outlets in the barns either.

So when I saw this I couldn't help but have a brief nostalgia moment and think it was cool. I don't have a current need for it so it'll be staying on the store shelves for now.

On another note... holy cow the things you can do in your car now!

I can't believe I'm having to resort to this... but... since I don't have the time to run over to my beloved Craig in Idaho Falls I'm sitting at home this afternoon taking matters into my own hands... which shouldn't be a big deal... but it is... because now I'm reminded why I need to make the time to get an appointment with Craig and have his master styling hands deal with my hair... it's not the actual smell of the stuff... it's just the time consuming pain in the ass effort that I've decided is not worth my time.

Of course time wasn't the only thing working against me this week. In an effort to wrap up some loose IT ends at work this week I ended up staying way too damn late on Tuesday night (we're talking leaving the office 11 hours after I walked in the door) and of course by then it was pitch ass black in the empty parking lot. As my luck would have it, yours truly finds a stray tennis ball and plants her high heel square in the middle of it. The reward... two skinned knees... bruised palms... and one hell of a sprained ankle :)

So, yeah, it's been one of those weeks. Which hopefully is getting ready to come to an end... ten more minutes of sitting here with this crap on my head... one hot shower... and I am going to call it a night... next week is threatening to be a little more difficult than this week.

I have to give a "shout out" to my new favorite blush of all time... I highly suggest it for every skin type and tone... Nars "Deep Throat" - it's a shimmery peachy-pink color that gives you the perfect flush without the oranginess of the Nars "Orgasm" blush. If you're really smart you'll pick up the duo from Sephora that contains the Deep Throat blush and the "Striptease" lipgloss. These two products together are perfect for a minimal makeup day, but combined with your regular beauty routine they certainly take it up to the next level. They're a limited addition and only at Sephora... what are you waiting for???? It's a product I'm certainly going to order more of...

SO.... Rose just called... from my favorite store in the entire U.S. and not only from my favorite store... but from the one on 5th Avenue in NYC... I'm a tad envious at this point... especially since as she called me from the floor of Sephora I was browsing online and trying to talk myself down from the retail therapy of purchasing some more cosmetics... damn... if Jim wasn't going to be here next week I'd go 'hog wild' all over the website stalking up on 'must haves' but since he'll be here about the time the boxes will arrive and I'd rather not justify yet another Sephora purchase... I'll just wait a week... but then... baby oh baby... get out of my way! :)

My Super Awesome "Cool" Beauty Secret

8:01 PM - My Super Awesome "Cool" Beauty Secret
Current mood: creative

I am sure that everyone I know will agree with me when I say it's miserably hot everywhere!

I've been threatening for a couple of months now to start a beauty blog. Unfortunately as soon as I said it out loud the universe handed me a load of work and not enough hours in the day. Today isn't much different than the last couple of months have been, but I was so excited at how well this worked I had to share it with everyone.

It's not a secret that I LOVE PEDICURES... love them... I can find a manicurist that will fit me in on a last minute notice in almost everytown that I've ever traveled through.

When it's hot my feet take an even bigger beating than usual (it's too hot to wear tennis shoes/clogs so high heels and sandals are the shoe d'jour). Unfortunately, that means that my feet are exposed for about 12-15 hours a day. Not only do they dry out, but they tend to ache - a lot. I've got the stuff to do a pedi at home (thank you Sally's Beauty!) but honestly after working for 9-10 hours before I get home the last thing I want to do is sit there and soak my feet and then deal with the cleanup. Not to mention, I just generally don't have that extra time in my day.

Enter my brilliant idea...

I'm a creature of habit. For me that generally means showers in the evening (especially during allergy season and when the temps are high a.k.a. sandal season). Some people do their best singing in the shower. Apparently, I do my best thinking in the shower.

The next time you're too tired to deal with your poor summer toes try this - start the water running; while your shower is 'heating' up stop the tub plug so that all that water gets caught in the tub (can you see where I'm going with this???); add your favorite foot soak to the tub; jump in; if you shower as quickly as I do by the time you're ready to rinse your shampoo out your feet will have soaked just long enough to feel some relief! Unstop the tub plug when you're ready to let the water drain. This is the point where if your drain is as slow as mine you'll still be standing in ankle high water by the time you've finished buffing your body and conditionning your hair :)

The benefits - soft, cool, clean feet!

Try it out - I promise you will not be sorry :)
